Just some happy diversions to give you something to look at and make you feel sorry for yourself (and for me) since neither of us is likely in any of those places at the present time.

January 1, 2001—aka 010101—was on time in Hawaii, but you couldn't tell because of the clouds on the eastern horizon. Eventually, the rays of the sun found their way through the clouds to produce this spotlight-like vista on the Pacific Ocean. This view was taken from the summit on the crater rim of Diamond Head Volcano.
