Jordan's Journal: What's new?
20070910MON--I bought jordanfarley.com yesterday and am pointing it here for now. Was a toss-up between here and my Stay-at-home, Work-at-home Dad blog, otherwise known as SAHWAHD. But I figured with this note, the link at the left, and the natural curiosity of the world at large, both would be found no matter where the domain points. Maybe I'll just flip them around from time to time. And when Jordan grows up and decides he wants to blog, have a web presence, whatever, he'll have his name ready to use. If he wants to use such a thing in that not-so-distant day. 20050331THU--Am finally getting around to editing out references to the former domain we had for Jordan's site. After I let it go, it was bought by a porn peddler. How horrifying. Some of the people on my mailing list didn't bother to read the mail telling them where Jordan's new site would be, so they were suitably shocked, too, in addition to thinking that I had gone over to the dark side. 20040223MON--I threatened to do it, and now I have: (Domain edited out) will be no more after this coming month, that is if maxipointservers takes it off the their servers. I won't be paying for it, at any rate, and won't be updating it. Everything will be on bobfarley.com/jordan now. Well, not quite everything. Most of the pages have been reduced to one photo. Couple still have the script menus for some pictures because they're necessary for the page. Still interesting to take a plunge through. Won't take so long now, especially if you're looking at pictures and not doing any reading. 20031204THUUploaded a graph for the December pages. No pics yet. Do you think I'll ever get any pics done again? You betcha. 20031116SUNUploaded the October and November pages. No pics, but if you can read, have fun. 20031004SATHalf a dozen pics loaded for September. 20030923THUMore text for September. Can pictures be far behind? 20030911THUPut up some text for September. 20030830SATCongratulate me, I've posted pictures for July and August! Updated the text on the August page, too. Changed the html, too, for the pictures so that more browsers can view the full-size ones. Read my blog to find out more about that, if you're so inclined. 20030811MONPosted text on the August page. Also changed the color scheme for the pages beginning with July and through the rest of the year, I figure. Still no photos for July or for August, for that matter, but they'll be coming soon. Jordan is growing quickly, the past few weeks, stringing words together, getting more physically oriented and capable, and becoming even more all-around great to be associated with. 20030720SUNFinally posted some pictures on the June page. Aren't you proud of me? 20030715TUEPosted text on the July page. Still haven't done pics for the June page. Summer laziness kicking in, I guess. 20030625WEDPosted text on the June page. Javascript situation: It's come to my attention that older browsers and those without Javascript enabled will not be able to properly view the large versions of the photos posted on the pages. These days and times, everyone should have a JavaScript-enabled browser, so I don't think I'll make any wide-ranging changes on the site. It works for me, make it work for you, eh. 20030530FRIPosted a dozen pictures on Jordan's May page. 20030514WEDStarted on May's post. 20030426SATGot April's post uploaded today, with some funny pictures showcasing Jordan's desire to put himself into a box. 20030325TUEMade a big post about breath-holding syndrome, words, and other notes on the March 2003 page, link below. 20030321FRIPosted another picture at the link below. 20030320THUPosted some new pictures of Jordan in the snow and eating on the March 2003 page. 20030316SUNAbout the opening page picture: The triad of pictures that make up the animated gif on the entrance page were taken at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, when Debbie was taking a captains course prior to reporting to Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado. Jordan is four months old, laying on one of the two beds we had in that little place. As always, he shows his cheerfulness and animation gladly, even at this tender young age. 20030315SATUploaded pictures to March 2003. So now I've updated this page, and now I need to update the main page. Hmmm, is that enough updating to have to do every time I put something new in here? 20030304TUEUploaded text for the past six weeks or so. Sorry, no pics yet, but they'll be there soon. 20030123Uploaded new pictures from January, along with text. And installed a new color scheme for 2003, Jordan's other favorite color: blue. 20030102Uploaded pictures and additional text to Jordan's December. 20021130A new house and an improved sense of balance highlight Jordan's November. 20021028Jordan is learning how his food feels. 20020918Decided to combine the August and September pages, since it's long past August. Got a dozen new pictures up on the August link, so check them out when you can. 20020817Finally put up some pictures from back in April when we visited Ohio before coming out to Colorado. Check out Ohio 2002. 20020804The photos for July are up. 20020729Uploaded the July text today. Don't have the pictures ready, but they may be coming soon. Also put up a new tooth page. You can get to it from the new pages. Put the picture on this server so that it wouldn't someday disappear without my knowing about it, leaving everyone unable to track the progress of Jordan's teeth. Found an actual baby teeth map, or deciduous teeth, as they're properly known. Still have the permanent teeth map, in case I'm still doing this six years from now. 20020626Got together a story about strollers and our search for the perfect stroller. Turns out we have two choices. 20020610Here are some pics of our trip to the pool, as well as some new shots of him standing, laughing, eating, etc. Raison d'etre
After our son was born, we had plans to document each and every second of his life. Did a fairly decent job the first couple of hours, but then we began to slack off and only do minutes. Then we only did hours, then days, and now it's weeks growing into months. We've got calendars and notebooks and now the Internet to keep track of where we've been with Jordan, and someday *wiping tear from eye* all this will be his.
Other than pure pride in our son, we hope some of the entries in here will help new families understand their newest members. Barring that, we hope our own families come by now and then to see what's been going on. At least all we have time to post about what's going. From time to time new groups of pictures will be posted, too.
